I would like Peter’s family to know how much I adored spending time with Peter. I loved his laugh and his great sense of humor. He was a genuinely kind and generous man—always giving thoughtful gifts. One fond memory I have is going to Duran in Pula, Croatia, to visit the glass factory there. After dinner one night we went to the restaurant bar where Peter introduced me to grappa, which we proceeded to drink a great deal of. The next time Peter visited the states, he brought me a bottle. One regret I have is that Peter had secured tickets for us to join him at Octoberfest one year, unfortunately, we were unable to attend. I know how much fun we missed going with Peter. The next time we visited Wertheim, he gave us a giant glass Octoberfest stein. I will miss him dearly.
